Gesundheit!

It would appear that I have some competition in the top quality poetry writing stakes:

If you sneeze on a Monday, you sneeze for danger;
Sneeze on a Tuesday, kiss a stranger;
Sneeze on a Wednesday, sneeze for a letter;
Sneeze on a Thursday, something better;
Sneeze on a Friday, sneeze for sorrow;
Sneeze on a Saturday, see your sweetheart tomorrow.
Sneeze on a Sunday, and the devil will have domination over you all week.

I find the final line especially powerful. It really rolls off the tongue.

Poetry Time [No. 3]

My Life As A Virgin Media Customer

So,
Bye bye, Sky channels.

Sometimes,
We used to watch you.

Admittedly,
Mostly for The Simpsons.

Although,
We always seemed to be watching repeats.

Specifically,
That bloody
Jazz Man episode.

And
The one with the crazy golf competition.

And
The one where Bart runs away.

And
That one with Sideshow Bob.

And
That other one with Sideshow Bob.

And
Another one with Sideshow Bob. But,

Strangely,
Never the one with his brother

Which,
Ironically, I'd actually like to see again.

More of the same, only worse

Poetry Time [No. 2]

Obsessive Compulsive Christmas Tree Decoration

You're all green and pointy
And taller than me,
Sounding more like a thing of bad dreams
Than a nice Christmas tree.
That said, it's surprising
I don't have nightmares
About baubles of the same colour
Hanging on you in pairs,
Because that drives me nuts
I really should say.
In fact, I'd prefer the monster dreams
Then I could run away.
Like in that one I had
With Godzilla where
He chased me down the local High Street
And I hid in the Chemist's.
More smashing poetry

Poetry Time [No. 1]

The Hall Carpet

You look like something
From a bad Avengers set,
So seventies in design.
You make my head hurt
And misshapen blobs of colour
Float before my eyes
If I stare at you too long;
But I have no need to do that,
So that's alright then.

Avengers snowmen drawing
What The Avengers would look like if I built them as snowmen
